Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between The Protocol Path way and a Classic Homeopath?

Both approaches aim to stimulate the body’s innate healing, but they differ in how they prescribe and how quickly they address symptoms. Our focus is always on meeting each person where they are, and supporting their health in the most effective and sustainable way.

Classical homeopathy follows a traditional approach where a detailed, in-depth consultation (usually 90–120 minutes) is taken to explore your complete health history, personality, emotional state, and physical symptoms. After this thorough assessment, a single remedy — often called the constitutional remedy or simillimum — is chosen to match the overall picture of the person, not just the symptoms they are experiencing.

This remedy is usually given infrequently and the case is then reviewed after a set period, often several weeks or months. The philosophy behind this approach is that by strengthening the person’s overall constitution and vitality, the body will naturally resolve illness and prevent future disease from manifesting.

Classical homeopathy typically does not prescribe directly for the presenting symptom (such as eczema, headaches, or anxiety), but instead focuses on balancing the person as a whole.

Practical Homeopathy/ The Protocol Path way takes a more symptom-focused approach, using well-established protocols and remedy combinations that are known to work effectively for specific conditions. Rather than relying on a single constitutional remedy, this method often uses several remedies at once — either as a blend or alongside each other — targeting both the person and the complaint.

Consultations are generally shorter and more focused on the current issue, with treatment adjusted more frequently depending on how the symptoms respond. This approach is informed by decades of clinical experience and research, including methods like the Banerji and Narayani protocols, which have mapped effective remedies for a wide range of conditions.

Practical homeopathy offers a flexible, practical way to provide quicker relief from symptoms while still supporting the body’s natural healing process. It can be used on its own or alongside a deeper constitutional approach when needed, meaning it still addresses the disease at a deep level for a long lasting cure.

Why We Choose a Practical Approach

We often work with patients who are managing complex, chronic health issues or who may be carrying a significant toxin load from medications, vaccines, environmental exposures, or past infections. In these situations, healing tends to happen in layers — and the first layer may involve clearing blocks or reducing the intensity of chronic symptoms before the true underlying state can be fully seen.

By using a practical approach, we can gently support the body to detoxify, regulate, and stabilise. This often allows the deeper constitutional pattern — the true simillimum — to emerge more clearly over time, at which point a more classical prescription may become possible if needed.

How long can I expect to see results?

Every person’s healing journey is different, and the time it takes to see results can vary depending on how long the issue has been present, the severity of the symptoms, and the overall vitality of the individual.

Most of the protocols we use are designed to run for 12 weeks. This timeframe allows enough consistency and momentum for the remedies to stimulate the body’s healing response and for meaningful changes to take place. In some acute situations, results may be seen much sooner, while more complex or chronic conditions may require multiple layers of support over a longer period.

During the 12-week period, we will regularly assess how your body is responding and adjust the plan if needed. Our goal is always to work with your body’s natural pace — gently but effectively.

True healing takes time, and rather than simply suppressing symptoms, homeopathy works to restore balance and address the root cause.

Can I continue taking my medication or supplements while using homeopathy?

Yes — in most cases, you can continue taking any prescribed medications, vitamins, or herbal supplements alongside homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy works on an energetic level and does not interact chemically with conventional medicines or supplements.

Our approach is always to work with your current healthcare plan, not against it. If you are taking medications that are essential for your health (such as thyroid medication, blood pressure medication, or insulin), it is important to continue these unless advised otherwise by your prescribing doctor.

If you are taking certain herbal supplements, we may occasionally suggest pausing or adjusting these if we feel they could interfere with the remedies or the case assessment — for example, herbs that have a strong detoxifying action might overlap with a detox-focused homeopathic protocol. However, this is always discussed on a case-by-case basis.

The most important thing is open communication, so we can ensure your homeopathic plan is working safely and effectively alongside any other treatments you are using.

What is the difference between an acute consultation and a regular consultation?

The key difference between an acute consultation and a regular protocol path consultation is the type of health concern we are addressing.

Acute Consultation

An acute consultation is for short-term issues that have come on suddenly and are expected to resolve fully within a short period of time. These types of complaints are usually triggered by infection, injury, or an immediate stressor, and the goal is to quickly relieve symptoms and support recovery.

Examples of acute consultations:

  • Coughs, colds, flu, ear infections

  • Infections such as Impetigo (School Sores)

  • Fevers, sore throats, stomach bugs

  • Teething or colic in infants

  • Mastitis, UTIs, conjunctivitis

  • Injuries, accidents, burns, bites, or stings

  • Emotional shock, grief, anxiety after a specific event

Acute consultations are 15-30mins and are booked as an on-demand option because the nature of these illnesses happen without planning or warning.

Regular Consultation

A regular consultation is for long-term, ongoing, or recurring health concerns — including physical, emotional, or behavioral patterns that have been present for weeks, months, or even years. These deeper consultations explore the current chief complaint or disease state, health history, family history, emotional wellbeing, to create an individualised treatment plan.

Examples of what we treat:

  • Eczema, asthma, allergies

  • Digestive issues such as IBS, constipation, reflux

  • Anxiety, depression, sleep disorders

  • Hormonal imbalances, PMS, menstrual irregularities, fertility preparation

  • Autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue, thyroid disorders

  • Behavioural or emotional concerns in children (e.g. anxiety, anger, sensory processing issues, ADHD, Autism)

These consultations allow us to work on healing at a deeper level, often using layered protocols and a longer-term approach to address root causes.

What is Homeoprophylaxis?

Homeoprophylaxis (HP) refers to the use of homeopathic remedies to help educate and support the body’s immune system in recognising and responding to infectious diseases. Rather than being a vaccination, homeoprophylaxis uses highly diluted energetic doses of disease-related substances (called nosodes) to gently stimulate the body’s natural defense mechanisms.

The concept of HP has been used for over 200 years and has been studied in various countries as an alternative or complementary approach to disease prevention. It is most commonly used for travel support, exposure to common childhood illnesses, or as part of long-term immune system education.

It’s important to understand that HP does not work in the same way as vaccines — it does not aim to produce antibodies but instead seeks to strengthen the individual’s natural immunity and resilience.

We have been trained to use Isaac Golden’s homeoprophylaxis program, always ensuring that you are well-informed and supported to make the best choice for your family. This can be booked as a regular appointment and includes all of the standard program’s remedies.
